This solution is based on work by forum posters on the Apple Discussion boards. The code disables the C4 power saving mode on the CPU in order to stop the whine/noise that is apparent on many MacBook Pros. This fix will likely lower your battery time, but for some this may be a small price to pay for a quiet computer.
